Premature Ejaculation treatment -
at the Huddersfield and Manchester Hypnotherapy Clinic

Premature ejaculation (often mispelled as "ejeculation") is the most common of all sexual problems and is commonly experience by younger men up to the age of 40. It occurs because of internal anxiety and results in what is know as a 'performance anxiety'. This anxiety causes the man to worry about not ejaculating in order to please his partner, and in doing so actually creates the situation he is trying to avoid.

Men who have symptoms of premature ejaculation may ejaculate before penetration and even at the thought of penetration. Those with milder symptoms may ejaculate after a few strokes after penetration. This may lead to feelings of not being able to satisfy their partner, which then increases levels of anxiety when sexual intercourse is next attempted. Because anxiety is now even higher and an increased focus on not ejaculating too soon, this actually increases the likelihood of ejaculating even earlier.

This cycle can soon lead to feelings like 'not being man enough', feelings of guilt and shame, low self-esteem, and other negative emotional effects and can ultimately lead to a withdrawal from having sex altogether.

A common method that men try to use (learnt from other men) is to think of something completely non-sexual during intercourse in order to distract from the feelings of 'trying not to ejaculate. For example, thinking of the latest Formula 1 race, or thinking about mowing the lawn. This can work to some degree work but does some how totally miss the point of what sexual intercourse is all about – bonding with their partner and enjoying the physical experiences that come with the act of sexual interaction.
