Stress management / treatment for stress
at the Huddersfield and Manchester Hypnotherapy Clinic

Hypnosis can help with stress management and reduce anxiety

We live in a very stressful world with ever increasing demands placed upon us that we feel we need to meet. We may feel there are certain aspects of life that particularly stressful like work, home life, or ever increasing financial stress from debt.

Hypnosis can be used to manage stress that we experience in particular situations in life, by teaching the subconscious mind different ways of viewing the situation that stresses us, and in doing so we can our response to certain situations. What if we could make situations that used to make you feel stressed and anxious now just calm and relax you?

Many people receive great value from learning how to relax; after all, do you remember being taught at school how to relax?

Relaxation effects all spheres of the human body in a positive way, these include the:

Physical body – Physical relaxation activates the parasympathetic nervous system and opposes the way in which the body would "like" to act in a stressful situation. In relaxing the body we also relax the mind, as the two are intrinsically linked.

Emotions – By relaxing we create emotions that counteract the anxiety and stress we feel, and this has a relaxing effect on the body. By purposefully relaxing with hypnosis we can fill ourselves with senses of well-being, stability, allowing anger and anxiety to become less dominant emotions. Indeed with Pure Hypnoanalysis, we can remove the anxiety all together!

Mental – When we feel very stressed it sometimes seems like everything and everyone is demanding things from us and it's hard to know which task to tackle at any one time. Hypnosis can allow us to dissociate slightly from our situation, to put things into a clearer perspective, allowing us to see things in a healthier way. By relaxing, we can open up the right hemispheres in our brains (our creative potential) which gives us the capacity to problem-solve and deal with things that the logical parts of the brain couldn't deal with.

Spiritual – By this I do not mean any kind of religious spirituality, I simply mean allowing ourselves to relax so that the concerns of the day are temporarily put aside so that we can truly spend some time with ourselves. Just allowing yourself to be for a period of time without judging yourself or any thoughts within you can have the healthy effect of enabling you to learn to accept who you really are.
