Boost motivation with hypnosis
at the Huddersfield and Manchester Hypnotherapy Clinic

Huddersfield Hypnotherapy Clinic can help with motivation and stop procrastination

We find we need motivation when we want to achieve something in any area of our lives that we are not already achieving in. Motivation is what compels us to continue doing things in our lives. We generally feel motivated when there is a reward for us doing something. For example, we may feel motivated to do some extra hours at the office because the additional income will allow us to take the family on holiday; here is a clear incentive – we feel motivated to work more.

Being motivated becomes very difficult when there is no apparent incentive. For example, we may want to be motivated to lose some extra weight, but without a clear incentive we cannot be motivated. If the reason, in this example, is because you want your partner to find you more attractive, motivating yourself will be hard because you are not doing this for yourself – you are doing it out of fear and fear is not an incentive (and indeed you would be doing it for completely the wrong reasons).

If, however, you wanted to lose some weight and become fitter because you would like to run a marathon in a year or so then there is a clear and positive incentive. You are more likely to be motivated to carry out the necessary tasks in order to complete your goal.

Huddersfield Hypnotherapy Clinic can help you get fitter by allow you to want to exercise

Speaking of goals, we need goals to be motivated, and they need to be very clear. In the example above, there is a clear goal of running in a marathon. If our goals are not clear or the reasons are not our own reasons, then motivation becomes very difficult.

If you are constantly trying to find ways to motivate yourself, it is likely that your goals are not well defined, or not defined at all. The goal of becoming motivated is not a suitable goal as the goal is too abstract; how would we know when we are motivated enough?

There are many other reasons for not being motivated: these include anxiety, boredom and distraction. We cannot be motivated to do something if it is boring or we feel there are better things to be doing with our time.

All of the reasons as to why we are not motivated to do something that in our heart we would like to do can be dealt with effectively using hypnotherapy. If you have motivation problems then feel free to contact me and we can arrange a free consultation with absolutely no obligation to discuss your specific needs.
